Andrea Ancer, DNP, PMHNP-BC, LMSW is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and clinical social worker at Rappore. Dr. Ancer has provided mental health treatment for nine years in various roles and settings. She combines her social work psychotherapeutic training with nursing practice to address mental health needs holistically using medication management and therapy. She believes mental wellness and resilience are vital components to living a fulfilling and authentic life and it takes empathy, active listening, and human connection to help others address their mental health needs. Dr. Ancer focuses on balancing the importance of therapy, sleep, nutrition and physical activity for optimal mental health along with medication management when necessary. Dr. Ancer has experience treating clients of a wide range of ages and mental health symptoms including depression, anxiety, bipolar, attention deficit, eating disorders, substance abuse, low self-esteem, sleep irregularities, and weight-loss.
Dr. Ancer earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science and Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. Prior to her career in nursing, she earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston. When she is away from practice, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going outdoors with her dog Beau, and planning out her next travel destination.
